No Shortcuts

Becoming a leader is a lot like investing in the stock market. If you hope to make a fortune in a day, you’re doomed. It’s what you do day by day, over the long haul, that matters most. If you continually develop your leadership, the inevitable result is growth.

The John Maxwell Leadership Bible’s third law (of twenty-one) of leadership is the Law of Process. As Maxwell puts it, the good news is that regardless of how you see your leadership today, you can grow and improve.

The Law of Influence

John Maxwell says, “The true meaning of leadership is influence—nothing more, nothing less.” This week’s Maxwell Leadership Bible devotions focus on the Law of Influence. Drawing from stories about Joshua, we can see a time in his life when he was less influential and ultimately how he became a man of great influence.

Interestingly, I can trace parallels between Joshua’s story and my own—particularly at the moment in time when the leadership mantle transitioned from Moses to Joshua.
