Managing Me

ManagingMe

Last year, John Maxwell helped market some books by Dr. Stephen R. Graves.  Steve—a self-proclaimed organizational strategist, social innovator, pragmatic theologian, executive coach, and mentor—previously collaborated with Maxwell on a Life@Work series. Over the past 25 years, Graves has authored over 15 books aimed at teaching business people how to flourish in their life and work.

One of his books was a perfect fit for this month’s emphasis on showing discipline.  Entitled Managing Me: Why Some Leaders Build a Remarkable Legacy and Others Sadly Crumble, it’s about making the right decisions over and over in the areas that really matter.  It is up to you to manage you.

If you want to lead well at home, at work, or in your community or church, you should hear what Dr. Graves has to say.

Looking Back at 2014…and Ahead to 2015!

Now is the time of the year that I like to reflect on the past year and set goals & themes for the New Year.

I started 2014 by saying, “My year is sure to be filled with Patience, People, and Possibilities…” (Check out my January 1, 2014 post for more specifics).

I had no idea how those themes would play out! Check out the next page for more specifics.

For 2015, my themes will be Love & Leadership. I start each year by choosing a “Fruit of the Spirit” from Galatians 5:22 as a particular focus, and this next year’s focus will be on Love–

Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
