National Simplicity Day honors transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau on the date of his birth. Thoreau lived his life in many roles including author, naturalist, philosopher, and historian. He was also known to be a tax resister, abolitionist, development critic, and surveyor. His book, Walden, is a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings.
In our fast, ever-increasingly busy lifestyles, the observance of Simplicity Day encourages stepping back and looking at ways to simplify our lives.
I thought a fitting book to highlight for Out of This World Leaders was Clay Scroggins’ 2019 publication, How to Lead in a World of Distraction: Four Simple Habits for Turning Down the Noise.
Wow, does that title seem fitting for today’s world—which is full of noise & distraction?
