Celebrate International Women’s Day with “Lean In”

International Women's Day

In my last post, we learned about the Prophetess Deborah from Judges 4 in the Bible, who demonstrates what John Maxwell calls “The Law of Respect.”

Today is International Women’s Day, and the month of March is celebrated as Women’s History Month. Check out Women’s History Month to learn more about the generations of women who have left enduring imprints on our history.

At work, I am a co-Executive Sponsor of our recently-chartered Women’s Employee Resource Group—Women Excelling in Life & Leadership (WELL). In December, I read Sheryl Sandberg’s best-seller Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead in preparation for that role.

This post is a little longer than most, as I wanted to be sure to capture all of the valuable nuggets from Sandberg’s work. As you read on, consider how you’re either “Leaning In” or helping women around you “Lean In.”
